Our Driveway Installation Process

Asphalt Overlay

Asphalt overlaying is when a new layer of asphalt tis laid over an existing surface. In order for a driveway to be a good candidate for an asphalt overlay, it needs to be in fairly good condition to begin with, including proper drainage. During the process, we perform a patch that is cut out in order to make it last. We use a special diamond blade saw to saw cut the perimeter of the area needing patched, followed by removal and disposal of the asphalt. We then prepare the area with road base that is compacted and then paved. Areas of a driveway that are properly patched can last longer than the rest of your driveway.

New Driveway Installation

When our professional asphalt paving experts install a new driveway, we first begin by ensuring the area is clear of any structures that might interfere with your driveway’s performance and longevity, including problematic trees and stumps. We then excavate the necessary amount of organic material in order to make room for the base, which includes larger stones. Next, we install the finish course, which contains smaller stones and offers a smooth finish. This process typically takes no longer than two days.

Rip Out and Replace

Occasionally, a driveway will be in poor condition and the best option is to completely remove and replace it. We begin by removing and disposing of the existing asphalt. We will remove any layers that are not stable enough to support your asphalt driveway. After ensuring your base is stable and confirming that proper drainage can be maintained, we add road base to fine grade for adequate drainage. Once this is finished, we compact the surface with a vibratory roller, then pour asphalt
